Aviation in Debate – The commercial aviation 2020 Agenda
At the
invitation of ABEAR – the Airline Brazilian Association - Fulvio Delicato, partner
and managing director of Delicato Consulting attended this Wednesday, August 6,
2014 to the seminar titled "Aviation in Debate" that took place at
the Convention Center of the Institute Alberto Luiz Coimbra of Graduate Studies
and Research in Engineering, of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (COPPE-UFRJ).
In the
auditorium, important personalities of the commercial aviation scenario in Brazil
as the presidents of the major Brazilian Airlines José Efromovich, from
Avianca; Antonoaldo Neves, from Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras; Paulo Sérgio
Kakinoff, from GOL; and Claudia Sender, from TAM, academy reseachers like Prof.
Dr. Luiz Pinguelli Rosa and Prof. Dr. Elton Fernandes, PHD, ANAC – Civil
Aviation Agency - representatives Marcelo Guaranys and Carlos Eduardo Pellegrino,
DECEA – Air Space Control Department – Air Brigadier Gustavo Adolfo Camargo de
Oliveira and of the CGNA – Air Navigation Management Center – Cel. Bertolino and
Cel. Medeiros, and representatives from aircraft manufacturers such as Embraer,
Boeing and Bombardier and the aviation authority of the United States, the FAA –
Federal Aviation Administration.
During the
seminar the participants discussed key issues and recent experiences of the
industry (FIFA World Cup 2014) and the perspectives and needs for the future,
under the title of “Agenda 2020”.
At the end
of the event the president of ABEAR, Eduardo Sanovicz, supported by the leaders
of the four major Brazilian airlines, delivered to the Minister of the Civil
Aviation Secretariat (SAC) of the Presidency, Moreira Franco, there as a
representative of the candidate for presidency Dilma Russef, a document
entitled "Letter of the Aviation to
the Republic" with the main industry recommendations/claims for the
next government. Copy of this letter will be delivered to each of the other
three candidates best placed in the polls for this election.

important political moment as a contribution to a government agenda that shall
produce both sustainability and competitiveness at a sector that contributes to
high level job creation, increase capital flow and boost business." said

The main topics
of the Letter of the Aviation to the
Republic are:
2) Increase the capacity of airports and airspace; suit and expand the regional airport infrastructure.
3) Develop programs to ensure reconquest of the international passenger market by Brazilian airlines; strengthen the institutional representation of the country in international air transport forums.
4) Foster the formation and improvement of skilled technical labor.
5) Reduce the bureaucracy of customs process, adopting international standards; besides investing in the safety of the air transport chain, both for passengers and cargo, through the development and application of specific legislation in line with the International Civil Aviation Organization - ICAO.
6) Broaden a permanent dialogue with the presidency through SAC, ensuring the frequent exchange of projects and proposals.
